Last week, I packed my camera bags and flew with Southwest from Kansas to Orlando, Florida, for the dreamiest Orlando destination shoot yet. As a Wichita, Kansas wedding photographer, I love collaborating with creative brands, and teaming up with Ave & Liv Boutique – the mother-daughter-owned gem in Kansas City – was pure joy. We captured their newest feminine, effortless collection against lush backdrops, then sprinkled in some classic Disney magic. From perfect weather to nostalgic memories, this trip was unforgettable. Here’s the full story!

We arrived Tuesday evening, checked into our hotel, and geared up for two full days of creativity. Wednesday dawned bright and clear – sunny skies, zero wind (a Kansas girl’s dream!). No gusts meant flawless hair and effortless photos all day.
We fueled up at Foxtail Coffee Co., a spot Avery had been raving about. My iced vanilla latte with vanilla cold foam? Hands down the best I’ve ever tasted. We loved it so much we returned post-shoot for vanilla cold brew and a mozzarella pesto tomato panini – absolute perfection. If you’re planning an Orlando destination shoot or just visiting, add Foxtail to your list. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Energized and ready, we headed straight to Harry P. Leu Gardens – a botanical paradise Avery had dreamed of for months. And wow, it delivered. Towering oaks draped in Spanish moss, vibrant flowers, butterflies, bees, and even friendly lizards created romantic, dreamy backdrops perfect for showcasing Ave & Liv’s bold-yet-timeless pieces.
Between outfit changes, I couldn’t resist capturing the scenery itself. The golden light filtering through cypress trees felt straight out of a fairy tale. Leu Gardens is now on my must-return list for future styled sessions, engagement shoots, or even intimate weddings. If you’re a couple dreaming of lush, natural settings in Florida, this spot is gold.

After wrapping up the shoot, we freshened up and headed to Disney Springs for dinner at Summer House on the Lake. This place was packed, so we grabbed seats at the bar and dove into the menu. I had my first-ever Aperol Spritz (how have I gone this long without one?!), and we started with caramelized Brussels sprouts—10/10, I could’ve had just those for dinner!
Before calling it a night, we indulged our sweet tooth at the bakery next door and split a Lucky Charms Rice Krispy treat—best. rice. krispy. treat. ever. So good that even the next day, it was still a chef’s kiss.

Before heading back to the hotel, we made a stop at the biggest and best Disney store ever (Avery’s words, and again, she was right). We needed to grab Mickey ears because we were spending the next two days at Disney World!
This trip was extra special for me because the last time I was at Disney, I was 4 years old, and I still remember it as one of the most magical times of my childhood. It’s funny how, when you’re that young, you don’t remember everything, but the things you do remember? You remember them so vividly.
One of my most cherished memories was walking through the Contemporary Resort, where my family stayed, and spotting a Belle costume in the gift shop.
I was obsessed with Beauty and the Beast and needed that dress. My parents told me we’d come back for it later, and sure enough, they surprised me with the full Belle outfit—dress, shoes, jewelry, and even a wig! That night, we ate dinner at Cinderella’s Castle, and I met Belle while dressed as Belle. I was completely star-struck, and she even warned me to stay away from Gaston—“he’s bad news,” she said.
Of course, some memories are less magical—like the very distinct memory of seeing vomit on the floor inside the Splash Mountain gift shop (why is that the one thing I’ll never forget?!). But that’s Disney for you—a mix of absolute wonder and hilarious randomness.

Thursday morning, we were up early, coffee in hand, and ready to experience the magic. We started with photos in front of Cinderella’s Castle (naturally) before hitting the rides. Pirates of the Caribbean, Haunted Mansion, Mickey’s PhilharMagic, and TRON were instant favorites.
As for food? We had Tiana’s Famous Beignets, Tropical Serenade, and mini corn dogs from Casey’s Corner. And the grand finale? Fireworks at the castle. I teared up watching—it was that magical. No video can truly capture the way the castle lights up. If I could end every day like that, I would.

Friday, we started the day early at Epcot, racing to Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. And let me tell you, it was the best ride I have ever been on. I smiled so hard the entire ride that by the end, my mouth was actually dry.
Other highlights? Soarin’ Around the World, Frozen Ever After, and Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure—all completely immersive, transporting you straight into the magic.

Because when in Epcot, you have to! We took TikTok’s recommendations and split each drink so we could try more. Here’s the lineup:

Blackberry Moonshine Sour 5/5 ⭐️ from the American Pavilion at Epcot. Absolutely amazing, currently searching for a way to make this one at home!
Orange Slush 4/5 ⭐️ from Les Vins des Chefs de France, Epcot. So refreshing!!!
Mozart Liqueur 3/5 ⭐️ from Weinkeller in Germany. It was good, don’t get me wrong, but soooo small!
Frozen Mango Margarita 5/5 ⭐️ from La Cantina de San Angel. It was a little strong, but I’m a fan of tequila, so I loved this drink!
Troll Kreme 6/5 ⭐️ from Norway. You can find this drink in a little cart right outside the frozen ride. It’s a frozen blend of cranberry and vanilla topped with dragon berry rum. The best drink of the day, I could’ve had 5 more. A must try!!
This entire trip was a dream—from photographing Ave & Liv’s stunning boutique collection to experiencing all the Disney magic. Being back at Disney as an adult brought back so many nostalgic memories, and I couldn’t be more grateful.
I am so thankful for Ave & Liv Boutique and their incredible owners for allowing me to be part of such an amazing journey. Orlando, you were incredible. Until next time! ✨📸
